The Last Airbender
"The Last Airbender"
I have never written a review before but I feel as though this movie has given me a reason, so I am going to give it a shot...
I have never been so disappointed in a Movie before. M. Night should have not ever attempted to remake a cartoon into a movie. He had the template to make a great movie but he ignored all the aspects of the cartoon and completely screwed up the characters and story. I was not happy with what he did to the idea of "Avatar: The last airbender".
Characters:
The best part about the story line is the character building. This movie didn't have any what-so-ever. You find out too much about Aang in the first moments of meeting the character in the movie. I am not impressed about all the changes he made in the movie.
Story:
He had the perfect template to base the movie on, the cartoon was an awesome resource for him to base. What did he use to build this in his head. He completely messed up the story with pulling important character building, and removing important story line. I personally believe that the characters are one of the most important parts of the story. You learn way too much about what happens to the avatar 100 years before they find him. You are not supposed to know that yet. The character is supposed to show guilt about his decision and not say anything about what happened until the third book.
Final Thoughts:
I give this movie a thumbs down. I was upset about a lot with the movie. Even if I had never seen the cartoon I would still have been upset about this movie. The movie was too short and I would have preferred to watch it in 2D not 3D. There is no way i will recommend people to watch this movie ever.
